2. Blij en feestelijk vooruitzicht
Omschrijving:
We boffen met alle oosterse feestelijkheden die ons wachten. In Singapore maken we het Chinees Nieuwjaar mee en begint het jaar van de Aap. Het wordt gevierd op de eerste dag van de eerste maand van de Chinese kalender. Het is gebruikelijk dat men schulden betaalt, nieuwe kleren koopt, en het huis schoonmaakt. Er is gewoonlijk een groot familiemaal en de goden worden geëerd. Mensen geven elkaar cadeaus, in rood papier en in rood papier verpakt vuurwerk wordt afgestoken. De feesten kunnen drie of zelfs vijf dagen lang duren. Het Chinees Nieuwjaar wordt traditioneel gevierd met de drakendansen en leeuwendansen. Het feest wordt internationaal gevierd in gebieden met een grote bevolking van etnische Chinezen. Het Chinese Nieuwjaar is ook de tijd wanneer Chinezen over de hele wereld naar huis keren om op Nieuwjaarsavond met het avondeten bij hun familie te zijn.
Van onze chauffeur en gids Dewa kregen we nog een vrolijk bericht. Als we op Bali zijn is daar tien dagen lang een groot hindoefeest: de viering van Galungan en Kuningan, dat duurt van 9 t/m 19 februari. Heel Bali is versierd met bamboe stokken, ‘penjor’ genaamd. Tijdens het Galungan gaan de mannen van bijna elk dorp in de vroege ochtend al op zoek naar een niets vermoedend varken dat bij de tempel geofferd wordt. Het vlees wordt daarna voorzien van kruiden en specerijen en gebruikt om de traditionele en pittige ‘lawar’ gerechten te maken. In de dorpen op het platteland vinden de meeste festiviteiten achter gesloten muren plaats. Dorpen op het hele eiland vieren de Galungan periode op hun eigen traditionele manier. Galungan dag zelf is een drukke dag vol gebeden en non-stop eten. Nieuwsgierige toeschouwers zijn altijd welkom bij deze gelegenheden en in kleine dorpen, weg van de gebaande paden, zijn we volgens onze gids Dewa het middelpunt van belangstelling door een menigte giechelende kinderen.

2. Blij en feestelijk vooruitzicht
Omschrijving:
We boffen met alle oosterse feestelijkheden die ons wachten. In Singapore maken we het Chinees Nieuwjaar mee en begint het jaar van de Aap. Het wordt gevierd op de eerste dag van de eerste maand van de Chinese kalender. Het is gebruikelijk dat men schulden betaalt, nieuwe kleren koopt, en het huis schoonmaakt. Er is gewoonlijk een groot familiemaal en de goden worden geëerd. Mensen geven elkaar cadeaus, in rood papier en in rood papier verpakt vuurwerk wordt afgestoken. De feesten kunnen drie of zelfs vijf dagen lang duren. Het Chinees Nieuwjaar wordt traditioneel gevierd met de drakendansen en leeuwendansen. Het feest wordt internationaal gevierd in gebieden met een grote bevolking van etnische Chinezen. Het Chinese Nieuwjaar is ook de tijd wanneer Chinezen over de hele wereld naar huis keren om op Nieuwjaarsavond met het avondeten bij hun familie te zijn.
Van onze chauffeur en gids Dewa kregen we nog een vrolijk bericht. Als we op Bali zijn is daar tien dagen lang een groot hindoefeest: de viering van Galungan en Kuningan, dat duurt van 9 t/m 19 februari. Heel Bali is versierd met bamboe stokken, ‘penjor’ genaamd. Tijdens het Galungan gaan de mannen van bijna elk dorp in de vroege ochtend al op zoek naar een niets vermoedend varken dat bij de tempel geofferd wordt. Het vlees wordt daarna voorzien van kruiden en specerijen en gebruikt om de traditionele en pittige ‘lawar’ gerechten te maken. In de dorpen op het platteland vinden de meeste festiviteiten achter gesloten muren plaats. Dorpen op het hele eiland vieren de Galungan periode op hun eigen traditionele manier. Galungan dag zelf is een drukke dag vol gebeden en non-stop eten. Nieuwsgierige toeschouwers zijn altijd welkom bij deze gelegenheden en in kleine dorpen, weg van de gebaande paden, zijn we volgens onze gids Dewa het middelpunt van belangstelling door een menigte giechelende kinderen.

2. Blij en feestelijk vooruitzicht
Omschrijving:
We boffen met alle oosterse feestelijkheden die ons wachten. In Singapore maken we het Chinees Nieuwjaar mee en begint het jaar van de Aap. Het wordt gevierd op de eerste dag van de eerste maand van de Chinese kalender. Het is gebruikelijk dat men schulden betaalt, nieuwe kleren koopt, en het huis schoonmaakt. Er is gewoonlijk een groot familiemaal en de goden worden geëerd. Mensen geven elkaar cadeaus, in rood papier en in rood papier verpakt vuurwerk wordt afgestoken. De feesten kunnen drie of zelfs vijf dagen lang duren. Het Chinees Nieuwjaar wordt traditioneel gevierd met de drakendansen en leeuwendansen. Het feest wordt internationaal gevierd in gebieden met een grote bevolking van etnische Chinezen. Het Chinese Nieuwjaar is ook de tijd wanneer Chinezen over de hele wereld naar huis keren om op Nieuwjaarsavond met het avondeten bij hun familie te zijn.
Van onze chauffeur en gids Dewa kregen we nog een vrolijk bericht. Als we op Bali zijn is daar tien dagen lang een groot hindoefeest: de viering van Galungan en Kuningan, dat duurt van 9 t/m 19 februari. Heel Bali is versierd met bamboe stokken, ‘penjor’ genaamd. Tijdens het Galungan gaan de mannen van bijna elk dorp in de vroege ochtend al op zoek naar een niets vermoedend varken dat bij de tempel geofferd wordt. Het vlees wordt daarna voorzien van kruiden en specerijen en gebruikt om de traditionele en pittige ‘lawar’ gerechten te maken. In de dorpen op het platteland vinden de meeste festiviteiten achter gesloten muren plaats. Dorpen op het hele eiland vieren de Galungan periode op hun eigen traditionele manier. Galungan dag zelf is een drukke dag vol gebeden en non-stop eten. Nieuwsgierige toeschouwers zijn altijd welkom bij deze gelegenheden en in kleine dorpen, weg van de gebaande paden, zijn we volgens onze gids Dewa het middelpunt van belangstelling door een menigte giechelende kinderen.

2. Blij en feestelijk vooruitzicht
Omschrijving:
We boffen met alle oosterse feestelijkheden die ons wachten. In Singapore maken we het Chinees Nieuwjaar mee en begint het jaar van de Aap. Het wordt gevierd op de eerste dag van de eerste maand van de Chinese kalender. Het is gebruikelijk dat men schulden betaalt, nieuwe kleren koopt, en het huis schoonmaakt. Er is gewoonlijk een groot familiemaal en de goden worden geëerd. Mensen geven elkaar cadeaus, in rood papier en in rood papier verpakt vuurwerk wordt afgestoken. De feesten kunnen drie of zelfs vijf dagen lang duren. Het Chinees Nieuwjaar wordt traditioneel gevierd met de drakendansen en leeuwendansen. Het feest wordt internationaal gevierd in gebieden met een grote bevolking van etnische Chinezen. Het Chinese Nieuwjaar is ook de tijd wanneer Chinezen over de hele wereld naar huis keren om op Nieuwjaarsavond met het avondeten bij hun familie te zijn.
Van onze chauffeur en gids Dewa kregen we nog een vrolijk bericht. Als we op Bali zijn is daar tien dagen lang een groot hindoefeest: de viering van Galungan en Kuningan, dat duurt van 9 t/m 19 februari. Heel Bali is versierd met bamboe stokken, ‘penjor’ genaamd. Tijdens het Galungan gaan de mannen van bijna elk dorp in de vroege ochtend al op zoek naar een niets vermoedend varken dat bij de tempel geofferd wordt. Het vlees wordt daarna voorzien van kruiden en specerijen en gebruikt om de traditionele en pittige ‘lawar’ gerechten te maken. In de dorpen op het platteland vinden de meeste festiviteiten achter gesloten muren plaats. Dorpen op het hele eiland vieren de Galungan periode op hun eigen traditionele manier. Galungan dag zelf is een drukke dag vol gebeden en non-stop eten. Nieuwsgierige toeschouwers zijn altijd welkom bij deze gelegenheden en in kleine dorpen, weg van de gebaande paden, zijn we volgens onze gids Dewa het middelpunt van belangstelling door een menigte giechelende kinderen.

[description] => We boffen met alle oosterse feestelijkheden die ons wachten. In Singapore maken we het Chinees Nieuwjaar mee en begint het jaar van de Aap. Het wordt gevierd op de eerste dag van de eerste maand van de Chinese kalender. Het is gebruikelijk dat men schulden betaalt, nieuwe kleren koopt, en het huis schoonmaakt. Er is gewoonlijk een groot familiemaal en de goden worden geëerd. Mensen geven elkaar cadeaus, in rood papier en in rood papier verpakt vuurwerk wordt afgestoken. De feesten kunnen drie of zelfs vijf dagen lang duren. Het Chinees Nieuwjaar wordt traditioneel gevierd met de drakendansen en leeuwendansen. Het feest wordt internationaal gevierd in gebieden met een grote bevolking van etnische Chinezen. Het Chinese Nieuwjaar is ook de tijd wanneer Chinezen over de hele wereld naar huis keren om op Nieuwjaarsavond met het avondeten bij hun familie te zijn.
Van onze chauffeur en gids Dewa kregen we nog een vrolijk bericht. Als we op Bali zijn is daar tien dagen lang een groot hindoefeest: de viering van Galungan en Kuningan, dat duurt van 9 t/m 19 februari. Heel Bali is versierd met bamboe stokken, ‘penjor’ genaamd. Tijdens het Galungan gaan de mannen van bijna elk dorp in de vroege ochtend al op zoek naar een niets vermoedend varken dat bij de tempel geofferd wordt. Het vlees wordt daarna voorzien van kruiden en specerijen en gebruikt om de traditionele en pittige ‘lawar’ gerechten te maken. In de dorpen op het platteland vinden de meeste festiviteiten achter gesloten muren plaats. Dorpen op het hele eiland vieren de Galungan periode op hun eigen traditionele manier. Galungan dag zelf is een drukke dag vol gebeden en non-stop eten. Nieuwsgierige toeschouwers zijn altijd welkom bij deze gelegenheden en in kleine dorpen, weg van de gebaande paden, zijn we volgens onze gids Dewa het middelpunt van belangstelling door een menigte giechelende kinderen.
